The Best Way to Watch College Wrestling Without Cable

Figuring out how to watch college wrestling without cable can be very stressful. And now that you’ve looked over every D1 wrestling schedule, you surely want to know how to watch every team.

You may be wondering, “is college wrestling on ESPN+?”, “can you watch wrestling on Hulu?”, or “how can I watch college wrestling without cable?”

This guide will help to take off the pressure so you can easily watch your favorite division I wrestling team for the 2021-2022 NCAA season.

How to Stream College Wrestling Online

Many primetime college wrestling matches, such as Iowa vs Penn State, will air on tv; however, the majority of them will actually stream online through ESPN+, FloWrestling, Rokfin, or B1G+.

Generally, this is how to stream college wrestling online this season. If a match is primetime on cable, you will not be able to stream the dual online. For example, Iowa vs. Penn State will air on Big Ten Network only, not on B1G+.

  • B1G+ ($69.99/season): non-primetime Big Ten events, all match replays
  • ESPN+ ($6.99/month): non-primetime events; most duals for the ACC, Big 12, EIWA, MAC, and SoCon; this includes ACC Network Extra, Patriot League Network, and Big 12 NOW; replays
  • FloWrestling ($150/year): will stream various D1 tournaments and home duals for Drexel, Edinboro, Iowa State, Northern Colorado, South Dakota State, Utah Valley, Wyoming; replays
  • PAC-12 Insider (Free): certain PAC-12 duals, major events will air on the PAC-12 Networks; replays
  • Rokfin ($9.99/month): a few college teams will stream matches here, including Clarion and Appalachian State; replays

Watch College Wrestling on TV

While many duals will stream on the internet, you can still watch primetime college wrestling on TV. Most events will air on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, Big Ten Network, or the ACC Network.

For example, the NCAA Wrestling Championships will air on ESPN. The Big Ten Network will carry Oklahoma State at Minnesota (Nov 20), Penn State vs Michigan (Jan 21), Iowa at Ohio State (Jan 21), Penn State vs Iowa (Jan 28), and the Big Ten Wrestling Championships.

ACC

Dual meets for the ACC will take place on the ACC Network, ACC Network Extra, or ESPN+. Five primetime events, including Virginia Tech vs NC State, UNC vs NC State, and Pitt vs NC State will air on Friday nights From January 21 through February 18. You can watch all other ACC duals on ESPN+.

Big 12

Many duals in the Big 12 will stream via ESPN+, including Oklahoma State and West Virginia. FloWrestling owns rights to stream home duals for Iowa State, Northern Colorado, SD State, Utah Valley, and Wyoming. Other duals will air on local channels, including Oklahoma on FSOK, ND State on WDAY EXTRA.

Big Ten

The Big Ten Network will air nearly 30 D1 duals, including Iowa vs Penn State (Jan 28), Michigan vs Penn State (Jan 21), Iowa vs Ohio State (Jan 21), and the Big Ten Championships, from November through March. You can watch all other duals, streaming on Big Ten Plus.

EIWA

For the most part, the EIWA will stream matches via ESPN+. The exceptions are Franklin & Marshall on Centennial Conference, Drexel on FloWrestling, and Sacred Heart on NEC Front Row.

MAC

The bulk of MAC matches will take place on ESPN+, with the exception of Edinboro and Clarion. You can watch Edinboro on FloWrestling and Clarion on Rokfin. Central Michigan will also air duals on ESPN3, which requires a cable subscription.

PAC-12

Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon State, and other PAC-12 teams will stream their duals via the PAC-12 Networks, for free on PAC-12 Insider, or on a live stream. Additionally, Little Rock will stream their home events on Little Rock All-Access with packages ranging from $9.99 – $69.95.

SoCon

The entire SoCon schedule will stream live on ESPN+. Appalachian State has streamed past duals on Rokfin, and Campbell streams many of their duals on Facebook live.

Wrestling Events on FloWrestling

FloWrestling is the largest wrestling media company in the U.S., and they have owned streaming rights to various teams throughout the years. Their events are constantly being updated, so check here for a full list of upcoming FloWrestling events.

For the 2021-2022 NCAA wrestling season, FloWrestling will stream home duals for Drexel, Edinboro, Iowa State, Northern Colorado, South Dakota State, Utah Valley, Wyoming.

Certainly one of the most-anticipated events in 2022 is Bout at the Ballpark on February 12. Oklahoma State will take on Iowa, and Team USA will take on Team Iran. Gable Steveson is expected to take part in the event for Team USA.

Major College Wrestling Tournaments Streaming

First and foremost, the best way to watch the major college wrestling tournaments this season is to subscribe to FloWrestling. Huge events such as Cliff Keen Las Vegas, Reno Tournament of Champions, and the Southern Scuffle will all stream live with bracket and scoring updates.

Perhaps one of the most exciting dual meet tournaments is in December, the National Collegiate Wrestling Duals. 12 teams will compete, including Iowa, Penn State, NC State, Arizona State, and Cornell. You’ll want to register for Rokfin to watch this full event.
